Towards the tail-end of the 2011 summer holidays, a major university in the South West contacted Action Handling to assist in their refurbishment project. In order to get the Design and Technology Department ready for the new academic year, a large quantity of workshop benches were required to furnish the ‘Pupil Teaching Workshop’.

In addition to some minor modifications to the product, the client had also stipulated a strict delivery time to coincide with their project schedule i.e. delivery before noon, fast-installation, etc.

Contrary to standard workbenches we supply, the University required a number of customisations including: extra vices, extra and elongated drawers/cupboards, taller back-panels and special hardwood work surfaces throughout.

Following a meeting to discuss all of the above and survey the environment on-site, the team at Action Handling began the fabrication process. A total of 15 units were supplied to the University and the goods were installed within 3 weeks of the initial telephone enquiry.
