store room shelving

No chance of a lie in or watching the golf with a croissant and OJ for the Phillips boys on Sunday morning. Not when there’s work to be done!

When a new customer, an independent public school in Hertfordshire, decided to have a complete overhaul of their storage facilities in the school uniform shop, they called Action Handling seeking our expert advice. It was noted that the existing shelving in the storage room was not efficiently using the potential space to store various uniform and sports goods. Armed with a floor plan of the storage room, Steve Phillips (our Sales Director) put together a proposal to suit their exact requirements.

As our customer is an independent boarding school with a rigorous schedule of extra-curricular activities, the availability to deliver and install the new shelving was very limited. The most ideal time would be early on Sunday mornings. Our dedication to customer satisfaction and going the extra mile wherever possible meant that Luke and Steve Phillips were only too happy to oblige!

Given the application of the equipment, a recommendation for Expo 4 shelving was made. Expo 4 boltless shelving is ‘the system of choice’ for users of all shapes and sizes as it offers the widest range of sizes and accessories on the market. Its simple installation and adjustment are complemented further by its robust design and strong weight capacity. The unique friction steel clip simply connects the shelves to the uprights, making nails and bolts totally unnecessary.

In order to neatly store boys and girls equipment, a total of 6 bays were supplied with 48 of our plastic bins (24 in red for girls and 24 in blue for boys) and 32 freestanding dividers. To assist our customer further, it was agreed that Luke and Steve would install the new shelving as well as removing and disposing of the redundant existing equipment.

After only 4 hours on-site, the new shelving was up and ready for use. The lady who runs the uniform shop was extremely pleased with her new storage facilities and said that it was a lot more efficient than her previous set up.
