When a top aviation and automotive manufacturer needed some expert help and advice, they made the right choice in asking Action Handling to come visit them on site in Newbury, Berkshire.
A recently increased order book meant the production area at the Berkshire site had been totally under strain and when the chance to acquire an additional building on the same industrial estate became available, it was too good an opportunity to turn down, so Action were called to site to observe the current manual handling and production procedures on site and work out the best way to lift and move the machined parts for the production area at the new premises.
Looking at the lifting of machine parts and bespoke 3D printing in production areas, we were happy to advise and offer the most suitable range of stackers and lifting equipment for the job. In addition we were also pleased to help our customer with supplying storage box pallets for moving components internally with in the organisation from site to site in the UK.
The criteria was to have a sturdy box pallet 610mm x 610mm x 630mm with a hinged lid that was lockable and needed to have a removable side. The top lid section needed to have an aperture of at least 400mm x 400mm to store and transfer the parts in transit. The front side needed to be removable but not to be lifted off without the lid being opened first. It had to be impossible to detach the front without the lid being lifted up and the unit had to be secured with a padlock whilst the goods were being transferred by road.
