Female football has seen increased coverage in the news and media over the last few years. With the launch of the FIFA Women's Football Strategy the profile of the ladies game has been placed firmly high up on the international agenda. The Football Association (FA) also features a section on their website that aims to provide ladies with help, support and advice on getting involved in the great game.
Haverhill Ladies FC, play in the Cambridgeshire Women’s and Girl’s County Football League and being a progressive club are always on the lookout for new revenue streams, donations and financial support.
Action Handling Equipment already sponsored Haverhill Rovers Ladies' first team but a new initiative from the club aimed at promoting football for girls at The Newcoft caught the imagination of our sales executive, Jonathan Ball. We were pleased to become involved in the sponsorship of new free training sessions for girls aged 5-11 of all abilities, in a safe environment with qualified coaches.
This fine new initiative has been supported by press releases in the Suffolk News and the Haverhill Echo along with promotions throughout the local Haverhill Primary Schools.
So, if there are any women or girls who feel that they would like to get involved in one of the fastest growing sports, then there are great sources of information available and one of your first ports of call should be the Women In Football website which aims to cover many of the resources, news and events available to you throughout the year.
Furthermore, anyone interested in Haverhill Ladies FC can keep themselves updated with all the latest information on their Facebook site.
We are very happy to help grow the female game, you could do your bit too by getting involved on any level and become part of this amazing movement!
