Stop selfish parking on private land

business front

There are many things in life that are both annoying and frustrating and perhaps one of the most common are those issues that arise from parking. It appears that while there’s an ever increasing number of vehicles, there’s an ever decreasing number of parking places available in which to put them. This imbalance coupled with high parking prices provides some people with enough justification to simply park their car wherever they choose even if that’s on private land at an inconvenience to others.

One of our customer's experienced inconsiderate parking at the premises of their East End of London food delivery company. Despite having a dedicated forecourt, cars were often parked on it which meant staff sometimes had to find alternative parking and their drivers were unable to park and collect food for delivery.

Despite polite notices and the addition of double yellow lines, the problem persisted and eventually, the owners decided to call us to see if we could help find a workable solution to end the problem once and for all.

chain and posts

After a site visit by one of our team, 28 standard parking posts were modified with the addition of eyelets positioned on alternate sides of each post. Over 100m of chain cut into lengths was required to span the posts and each was fitted with hooks to match the eyelets on the posts. Quite obviously, the new barrier needed to be as visible as possible, so it was finished in a bright red / white combination.

It’s proved to be a great success. The forecourt can now be easily secured whilst still allowing access for staff and the posts provide a very clear message to those less considerate drivers, that they really shouldn’t park there!
