One of our regular pharmaceutical customers had recently launched their newest range of products online, thus allowing consumers to place orders 24/7 and all backed up with the benefit of express delivery.

Action Handling were asked to look at streamlining some of their warehousing processes and bring together a more integrated approach to providing a better overall picking and despatch service. One aspect of this was to produce some bespoke-made order picking trolleys, designed to cope with the speed and volumes of goods that were being handled. After initial discussions with the operatives on site, a working drawing was produced, quickly followed by a sample trolley. After a few further tweaks to the design and finish, an order was placed for a number of trolleys and picking containers which fulfilled the requirement. This whole process took only 6 weeks from the first discussions to supplying the quantity of trolleys needed.

The multi-tier picking trolley is perfect for businesses that pick, transport, store and distribute multiple orders from different storerooms or warehouses. Its four swivel sandwich castors are cushioned with a rubber centre, making it very easy to silently manoeuvre across surfaces, reducing noise pollution which can be a regular problem for busy, fast-moving operations. Our castors also feature a hard-wearing, polyurethane outer layer that ensures a long life of constant use on hard warehouse cement floors. The trolley is made from heavy duty 5mm thick steel that is robust but lightweight, holding up to eight storage boxes. It’s suitable for the traditional stack, nest and bale arm type containers, but equally could be adapted to hold any type of storage container.
