In the fast paced, frenetic world that we live in, time is usually of the essence. Some of our customers look to sourcing appropriate equipment for their needs, with the minimum of time or fuss. This can result in meeting with up a technical representative of ours, in order to gain advice prior to specifying an exact requirement (which we’re happy to do) but often they need to speed up the process and cut out the middle man. The wonders of Whatsapp or email can then be utilised by sending images of existing products requiring improved models manufacturing or alternative replacement models. We happily receive photos, Zoom or Teams calls to show us the requirement that is needed, as soon as humanly possible.
One such example of this was an email received from a regular customer. This cage trolley had seen better days and was slightly the wrong size to fit through the aisles and doorways on site. A quick Zoom call ensued to discuss the exact details, followed in minutes by an order for an updated version.
The cage trolley is used to transport janitorial cleaning products along with buckets and mop heads, to service areas within a factory and warehouse setting. As well as needing a secure locking lid (which in this case was broken), it needed some adjustments to the overall sizes to ensure it fitted through doorways and down the aisles. We also added better quality wheeled castors to provide easier manoeuvrability around the site.
Within 10 working days, we produced a much improved trolley. Fitted with a heavy duty plywood platform rather than mesh infill, it prevents any products from poking through the base. The platform is 1200 x 700mm with 800mm height to the top of frame and it is based on our standard model JD-MT2010/4 but fitted with the addition of the hinging security doors, complete with hasp and staple for securing by a padlock. The 200mm diameter rubber wheeled castors, two with foot brakes for safety, offer stability on both smooth and uneven surfaces.
So as you can see, from some simple mobile camera photos, great products can be supplied within very short time frames.
