The ability to tackle unique challenges with simple solutions is often the best way to improve safety in the workplace.

We recently had the opportunity to work on a project for a valued long-term customer. This company is well known for research, development and safety testing before life-saving drugs enter the medical market.

The project looked at our client’s operation across four locations in the UK where they faced a need for better identification of key workers at each site, all highlighting their specific job titles.

The initial brief was looking at designated desk and office locations or a paging system to contact individuals. Then a simple twist on the idea suddenly came to hand. Why not make these individuals look a whole lot more visible to everyone! The creation of four distinct high visibility vests in a variety of colours, all designed to meet the diverse roles within each site facility could provide the answer. It was a fantastic chance for us to showcase some versatility, ingenuity and commitment to the client’s need.

Having previously supplied high-visibility vests and branded clothing to many other customers, we were well-prepared to meet this requirement. Winning the tender to supply a total of 400 vests highlighted our dedication to customer satisfaction. After some initial trialling, here is a breakdown of the vests that we eventually provided:

For health and safety managers, implementing high-visibility clothing can be crucial for ensuring workplace safety. The colours chosen for this project were deliberately selected:
Yellow and green - Instantly recognisable for first aid roles, providing quick visibility during emergency situations.
Orange - Highly conspicuous, perfect for zone wardens tasked with managing specific areas.
White - Denotes authority for incident controllers who play critical response roles.
Orange and yellow - Combines visibility with leadership recognisability for lead wardens.

 

 

 

 

Each vest was made from high-quality recycled materials, featuring zip fastenings for added durability. They were also equipped with a clear ID badge area and multiple pockets, designed specifically to allow the needs of each key worker role.

From order point to delivery, the complete project was finished in just five days! Our client expressed their delight and the rollout to staff was completed the following week.
