There’s no chance of a lie in or watching the Golf with a croissant and OJ for the Phillips boys on Sunday morning … not when there’s work to be done!

When an independent public school in Hertfordshire decided to have a complete overhaul of the storage facilities in their school uniform shop, they called Action Handling seeking our advice. After an assessment it was noted that the existing storage room shelving was not making efficient use of the available space. Armed with a floor plan of the storage room, our Sales Director, Steve Phillips, put together a proposal to suit their exact requirements.

Given the application of the equipment, a recommendation for Expo 4 shelving was made. Expo 4 boltless shelving is “the system of choice” for users across the handling industry, as it offers the widest range of sizes and accessories on the market. Simple installation and adjustment are complemented further by the robust design and strong weight capacity, while the unique friction steel clip simply connects the shelves to the uprights, making nails and bolts totally unnecessary.

In order to neatly store Boys and Girls equipment, a total of 6 shelving bays were supplied, plus 48 of our plastic bins (24 in red for girls and 24 in blue for boys) and 32 freestanding dividers. To assist the customer further, it was agreed that Luke and Steve would install the new shelving as well as removing and disposing of the redundant existing equipment.

As the customer was an independent boarding school with a rigorous schedule of extra curricular activities, the availability to deliver and install the new shelving was very limited, with the most ideal time being early on Sunday mornings.  However, our dedication to customer satisfaction and going the extra mile meant that Luke and Steve Phillips were only too happy to oblige.

After only 4 hours on-site, the new shelving was up and ready for use. The staff member running the uniform shop was extremely pleased with her new storage facilities, commenting that it was a lot more efficient than her previous set up.
