One of our regular clients, a leading photographic equipment manufacturer, contacted us after they had relocated. Their new premises had no stock control method in place, which meant that the Warehouse Manager was simply storing boxes on the ground! Such a busy company required a much more effective solution, as they were unable to accurately count stock under the new conditions, as well as incurring an increased threat of damage to goods onsite. Warehouse employees were finding forklift access to goods almost impossible and heavy manual handling was necessary to manage demand. An urgent solution was needed, so Action Handling’s Sales Director, Stephen Phillips, was soon onsite to assess the situation.

Stephen met with the Warehouse Manager to discuss numerous possibilities, and the decision was made to use Action Handling’s Standard Pallet Beam Racking, decked with heavy duty chipboard. This system would offer multi-tier storage with stock sitting no higher than 1 to 2 per level, eliminating the risk of damages while maximising storage space. Goods were clearly identifiable effective leading to effective stock control system, while access was created by using aisle passageways for forklift access. This new system completely transformed the efficiency of the warehouse, leading to another satisfied client.
