When it comes to storage solutions it pays to think outside of the box. Traditionally most storage systems are either set up to store goods horizontally on pallet racking or loosely together on cantilever shelf levels. We often find that customers are storing long items like steel sections, extrusions, piping, sheet panels, timber or lengths of plastic in this way. That can be a complete waste of valuable floor space!

Well, maybe there is a better way that warehouses, factories, workshops and retail counters could easily store long awkward items in a more efficient and space saving way by using vertical storage.

The main benefits of vertical storage are:

  • Saves money on the cost of floor space.
  • Increases workplace efficiency whilst freeing up floor space.
  • Keeps goods organised and easy to identify.
  • Helps to reduce damage to goods.
  • Allows quick access to products.
  • Easily adaptable and quickly extendable.
  • Easily installed and can be bolted to floors or walls for secure safety.

Storing long lengths of materials or product can quickly become a trip hazard or just plain disorganised if a safe and sensible method of storage is not employed. This is where vertical storage has such a benefit. Storing goods in a horizontal fashion where they can easily become awkward to access or they can warp and bow, but by storing them vertically they can be easily segregated with dividers that will help to prevent both damage and movement of the goods.
